Report: Bills ‘close’ to finding replacement for stadium name

Update on the naming right for Buffalo Bills Stadium.

No word yet on exactly what that name might be, but at minimum, “Bills Stadium” might be no more… soon.

According to Ben Fischer of Sports Business Journal, the Bills are close to finding a replacement for the naming rights at their venue:

Once Ralph Wilson Stadium turned New Era Field, the hat company and Erie County, who won the venue, “jointly split” on their deal in terms of the team’s stadium name rights. Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz was up in arms, mid-pandemic, requesting for the change in July.

By late August just prior to the start of the 2020 NFL season, the team had officially removed signage from outside the stadium, leaving the team with its current name. When announcing the new name of “Bills Stadium,” the team also commented that the organization will continue to search for a new sponsor in the future.
