According to The Athletic’s Nicole Auerbach, a decision has not been made — despite multiple reports to the contrary.

Ok, we officially have no idea what’s going on with the Big Ten.

Multiple reports have indicated that the Big Ten has voted to cancel the 2020 football season and fall sports, just days after announcing unified protocols and a revamped schedule, with the most emphatic posting coming from the Detroit Free Press, which definitely stated that the university presidents voted to cancel the season. However, one prominent voice is calling that report premature.

According to The Athletic’s Nicole Auerbach, a Big Ten spokesman debunked the reports that the conference has voted to cancel the 2020 season, flying very much in the face of multiple news outlets’ postings.

Could it be that they didn’t vote? Or could the Big Ten be backtracking after several prominent voices — including Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh — have clamored to hold a season with the new protocols in place?

Either way, stay tuned. The story is still very much developing.
