There appears to be a little more clarity on the Joe Mixon injury front for the Cincinnati Bengals before the team plays the Jacksonville Jaguars today.
Mixon was a rare Saturday addition to the injury report after not appearing on it all week.
But overnight, a report broke saying Mixon should be able to play against the Jaguars, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport followed up by saying a source told him the issue was “very minor.”
Still, it’s notable the team felt the need to place the star running back on the report at all — and hit him with a questionable tag.
We still don’t know the exact nature of the chest injury but given the odd circumstances, it wouldn’t be shocking to see Mixon active but on some sort of pitch count that limits his snaps while Giovani Bernard sees an uptick in usage.
