It might be best for Cincinnati Bengals fans to pump the proverbial brakes on the Trai Turner idea.

Bengals fans created an amazing trending moment on social media by trying to recruit the veteran offensive lineman, much as they did for free-agent wideout Kenny Golladay before he signed with the New York Giants.

But according to Tyler Dragon of the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Bengals haven’t reached out to Turner just yet.

For what it’s worth, Turner himself saw the movement Bengals fans started. One would think the two are the perfect match, provided they can agree to terms. But Turner, 28, struggled last season and might have a suppressed market, so it could take longer than expected for him to iron out a deal he likes.

Either way, the Bengals aren’t totally ignoring the guard spot — they are one of two teams going after Nick Easton.
