Report: Bengals don’t plan on trading first pick in 2020 draft

A new report says the Bengals don’t plan on moving the top pick.

As expected, the Cincinnati Bengals don’t have any plans of trading the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft, which will presumably be LSU quarterback Joe Burrow.

So says a new report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter:

“Cincinnati plans to stay right where it is, according to sources, and presumably fill the biggest need on its roster — quarterback. The Bengals, in the opinion of many, cannot pass on a potential franchise quarterback in Burrow, whose father already has said his son has no qualms about going to Cincinnati.”

Of course, plans can always change and the length of time between now and the draft itself can feel like an eternity in football time.

But this isn’t any sort of shocker, even in mid-January. The Bengals biggest need is at quarterback and Burrow, entering the NFL after his Heisman Trophy-winning effort, is an Ohio native and consensus top pick.

Bengals coaches have already spoken highly of Burrow and Burrow’s father has already talked about joining the Bengals. Burrow himself had an interesting answer when asked about it, too.
