The first big injury news for the Cincinnati Bengals during training camp has arrived via a reported chest injury suffered by cornerback Trae Waynes.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Waynes suffered a pectoral injury that could see him miss two months. He’ll seek a second opinion on the setback.

Waynes, 28, was a massive signing for the Bengals this offseason in free agency via a three-year deal worth $42 million. He’s never missed more than two games in a season since 2015, yet now has an early training camp setback after joining a new team for the first time in his career.

Previously, Waynes had been in the news because he and the Bengals still hadn’t finalized his deal in early July. That wasn’t strange due to player restrictions at team facilities, but Waynes and his reps had said it prevented him from training like normal.
