For a Chicago Bears offense that appeared to have hit rock bottom, the last thing you wanted to see was starting quarterback Nick Foles being carted off the field in Monday night’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
By the look of things, Foles suffered a significant lower body injury to his leg or hip, and the Bears had to turn to practice squad quarterback Tyler Bray for assistance in the final minute of the game.
Bears head coach Matt Nagy didn’t have any updates immediately after the game when meeting with the media, but it didn’t look good.
“When I saw the amount of pain he was in on the ground . . . I hope he’s OK, but he was in a lot of pain,” Nagy said. “He’s a tough dude, but he was in a lot of pain.”
But it sounds like Foles and the Bears escaped a serious injury scare. According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, initial results showed Foles did not suffer a fracture in his hip, which was the concern. But he will undergo further evaluation to confirm.

In fact, according to Garafolo, it sounds as if the Bears are optimistic that Foles could be ready out of the bye week for a Week 12 primetime showdown with the Green Bay Packers.
There was also some encouraging news on the Mitchell Trubisky front, as Garafolo noted the belief is that Trubisky should be available coming out of the bye week, as well.
Which is both Foles and Trubisky are available against the Packers, Nagy has an important decision to make. Especially considering before Foles’ injury, he was playing poorly yet again.
