The Vikings have some strong competition in the NFC North.
The Packers, the division champions in 2020, went 13-3 in the regular season and lost in the NFC Championship.
In 2020, the Bears made the postseason without a stellar quarterback. Chicago’s defense is good and if the team can re-sign WR Allen Robinson, competent quarterback play could make the team a contender.
Texans QB Deshaun Watson is more than competent and Chicago has called Houston inquiring about a possible deal, according to a report.
As reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Bears were one of three teams confirmed to have contacted Houston about a potential Watson trade.
The Lions are rebuilding, but the other teams in the division have proven to be capable of defeating the Vikings. If Watson was to actually land in Chicago, sure, the Bears would have to give up a lot of pieces in the deal, but it would instantly increase the ceiling of a division contender. Vikings fans should hope that it doesn’t happen.
