Ayesha Curry, the wife of Golden State Warriors point guard Steph Curry, has reportedly been sued by a celebrity branding company she was partnered with from 2014 to 2019.
The San Francisco Chronicle and TMZ reported Wednesday that Flutie Entertainment has accused Curry of breach of contract and seeking more than $10 million.
Curry and Robert Flutie, owner of Flutie Entertainment, entered an agreement in November 2014.
Curry grew her brand by publishing cookbooks, appearing on TV shows and consumer products, according to TMZ. She launched a show on the Food Network called “Ayesha’s Home Kitchen” and was a host of ABC’s “Great American Baking Show.”
In May 2019, the relationship between Curry and Flutie Entertainment was terminated.
The San Francisco Chronicle wrote that the lawsuit alleged Curry denied Flutie Entertainment of its proceed shares, purposefully slowed new projects and, in The Chronicle’s words, “took away” one of the company’s top employees.
The lawsuit states this “essentially gutted and devalued Flutie Entertainment’s interests,” according to The Chronicle.
Curry’s attorney Michael Plonsker denied the accusations in a statement issued to The Chronicle and TMZ.
“Ayesha Curry terminated her business relationship with disgruntled manager Robert Flutie in early 2019. We are confident that the legal process will find his accusations nonsensical and completely unfounded.”
