Josh Oglesby’s fall camp had its impressive moments. But after the junior was leapfrogged in the depth chart by two freshmen and a sophomore at running back, Oglesby announced Tuesday he would try to continue his career elsewhere, per HawgBeat.

Oglesby, who is also a 60-meter sprinter on the track team, will enter the transfer portal in both sports, according to Andrew Hutchinson. He is the first player to leave the program since May.

Because he was on scholarship, it grants the Razorbacks an opportunity to replace him in a recruiting class. However, because of his entering the portal in November, it’s too late for that scholarship to count toward the Class of 2022. It will go toward 2023, instead.

Oglesby was a first-team All-American as a freshman opening leg of the 4×100-meter relay team. He also holds the 10th fastest 60-meter run in school history, as well.

Arkansas will lose running back Trelon Smith next year, but the rest of the group returns. Sophomore Dominique Johnson has established himself as the starter the last two weeks. Freshmen Rocket Sanders and AJ Green have seen regular playing time, too. The Razorbacks also have two commitments in the 2022 class, including four-star Rashod Dubinion.

Oglesby played in two games and had 19 yards on four carries this season.
