Anthony Davis hasn’t played in four games and there’s still a chance that he doesn’t go for the Los Angeles Lakers for a fifth straight, but that question will be answered in the minutes before tip-off of Saturday night’s ABC primetime game against the Houston Rockets.
Davis, who is officially considered questionable, will determine whether he will play on Saturday after his pregame workout, according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. Despite missing the last four games, Davis is still third in the NBA in total blocks. Davis is also the Lakers leading scorer in terms of points per game, averaging 27.1 points.
Saturday night’s showdown with the Rockets is the first of three meetings between the two teams this season. The Rockets, although they’re primed to be a playoff team and are currently 5th in the West, have lost their last two games.
The Lakers themselves are coming off of their first loss to a team below-.500 and Saturday will be the start of a five-game trip.
