Report: All-Pro OL Trent Williams (ankle) won’t play vs. Vikings on Monday Night Football

The All-Pro offensive lineman has been dealing with an ankle injury.

With Deebo Samuel already ruled out, the San Francisco 49ers could be without another key piece on offense for Monday Night Football against the Minnesota Vikings.

After missing practice for most of the week, All-Pro offensive tackle Trent Williams has been listed as doubtful for Monday Night Football in Santa Clara.

In an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Williams will not play against the Vikings due to his ankle injury. While Samuel and Williams won’t play, Christian McCaffrey (oblique) will be on the field on Monday Night, per Schefter.

With Williams out, 2021 fourth-round pick Jaylon Moore will slide into San Francisco’s starting offensive line. Moore will have to deal with veterans Danielle Hunter and Marcus Davenport while protecting Brock Purdy.

Kickoff for the 49ers and Vikings primetime showdown on Monday Night Football is set for 5:15 p.m. PT in the Bay Area.
