The 49ers’ search for interior offensive line depth is ongoing. ESPN’s Vaughn McClure on Wednesday reported former Falcons right guard Jamon Brown will have a workout with San Francisco on Friday.
Brown was a third-round pick of the Rams in 2015 and started 30 of his 42 games played during his three-plus seasons with the club. He was waived during the 2018 season and scooped up by the Giants where he started all eight games he played.
Atlanta signed Brown to a three-year deal before the 2019 campaign, and he wound up starting nine games for them. The Falcons released Brown in August.
San Francisco is still in search of depth on the interior with injuries, opt outs and retirements thinning that group out. Brown has 47 starts in 60 career games. Pro Football Focus grades haven’t been kind to him during his career. The analytics site has graded him as at least an average player only twice in his five-year career.
