The 49ers on Wednesday opened a roster spot by placing DE Nick Bosa on the reserve/did not report list. They’re going to fill that spot with linebacker Kyahva Tezino according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.
Tezino spent his five-year college career at San Diego State. He’s not yet played in the NFL and most recently played for the USFL’s Pittsburgh Maulers. Last season he posted 94 tackles and a pair of interceptions.
The 26-year-old joins a crowded, yet uncertain linebacker room. San Francisco has two of the NFL’s best linebackers with Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw, but after that the depth chart is murky.
Tezino will get an opportunity to find his way into the mix, but it’s going to be a steep climb with plenty of hurdles for a player with no NFL experience.
