The Baltimore Ravens got one of the best value signings of free agency last season, inking former New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram to a three-year contract worth $15 million. While former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell signed with the New York Jets on a four-year deal worth $52.5 million and struggled with injuries and poor play, Ingram flourished on a far more cap-friendly deal.

Ingram proved his value immediately, rushing for 107 yards and finding the endzone twice in Week 1. He would go on to have a career year, rushing for 1,018 yards and 10 touchdowns while catching 26 passes for 247 yards and another five touchdowns. Ingram’s presence would prove to be just one piece of the puzzle for the Ravens, combining with fellow running back Gus Edwards and quarterback Lamar Jackson to create the league’s best rushing attack. Baltimore would go on to break a 41-year old record for the most rushing yards in a season, thanks in large part to Ingram’s ability.

His first season with the Ravens was full of great moments, but let’s relive some of the best ones.

Ingram’s first play in the regular season was one to remember and foreshadowed what he’d bring all season long. Against the Miami Dolphins, Ingram took an inside handoff through Baltimore’s offensive line, finding a big hole and then punishing defenders who got in his way. Ingram ran over a defensive back that got in his way and outraced everyone else for 49 yards.

In Week 11, Ingram showed off his prowess as a receiver out of the backfield. He caught a swing pass and turned on the jets, running by the Texans defenders into the end zone before pulling off a pretty great slide-and-pose as his celebration.

It wasn’t the only receiving touchdown he had in that game, however. He caught another quick pass, ducked under a Houston defender poised to tackle Ingram for just a two-yard gain, and sprinted upfield for a 12-yard touchdown.
