Relationship between Kyler Murray, Cardinals coaches starting positively

After what felt like a toxic relationship between Murray and the team, things look much better with a new coaching staff.

By the end of the 2022 season, things were ugly for the Arizona Cardinals. Relationships were fractured. the general manager wasn’t around and quarterback Kyler Murray’s negativity was apparently a problem.

Many outside the organization have felt that Murray is the problem.

However, Murray’s relationship with the team is great right now.

According to Kyle Odegard from Compare.bet and formerly from AZCardinals.com, “there is a refreshing new energy within the building that has players excited for 2023.”

Murray is learning the offense quickly. He has a good relationship with head coach Jonathan Gannon. Gannon is excited to work with Murray. Murray has a good relationship with offensive coordinator Drew Petzing and quarterbacks coach Israel Woolfork.

When general manager Monti Ossenfort, Gannon, Petzing and Woolfork all went to Oklahoma for Murray’s Heisman statue unveiling, it impressed Murray.

It would appear that the organization is trying to repair things with Murray. After a year of negative reports, Gannon goes out of his way to say good things about his quarterback. The team drafted the player Murray wanted in the first round.

We don’t know yet whether the Cardinals will be anything more than bad in 2023 but the feeling in the building is better.

Where it ultimately leads is anyone’s guess, but Murray is happy, the coaching staff is excited to work with him, and hopes of a bright future remain vivid as their first season together awaits.
