Regarding the Patriots’ 2-5 record, Tom Brady deflects with veiled response

Sometimes, the grass may be greener.

In certain scenarios, the grass may be greener on the other side.

This is the case for Tom Brady, who’s having one of his best seasons in recent memory with the 5-2 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He began the season with a tough loss to the New Orleans Saints, but has been cooking ever since. Brady has Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Antonio Brown, Rob Gronkowski, Cameron Brate, Scotty Miller and the list of weapons goes on.

Meanwhile, the New England Patriots are 2-5 with very little hope to make the playoffs. Bill Belichick’s team has minimal depth and Cam Newton’s weapons are either hurt, or nonexistent. The Patriots are in unfamiliar territory and the difficult schedule ahead won’t allow for many easy wins.

While speaking with reporters on Thursday, Brady refused to talk badly about the team he spent 20 years with. He wishes them all the best.

“I have a lot of relationships with a lot of teammates. I wish everybody the best all the time,” Brady said. “I don’t ever wish for anyone to not perform at their best. I certainly wish for our team to play its best. Maybe the only team I don’t root for is the team we’re playing on that particular Sunday.

“Other than that, it’s just about us being the best we can be, working hard every day to put ourselves in a great position to be successful.”

At the moment, Brady’s winning the battle of legendary figures.
