Redskins will make Josh Norman a healthy scratch

The Redskins have made Josh Norman a healthy scratch.

The Washington Redskins have decided to sit veteran corner Josh Norman on Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

This comes a week after interim coach Bill Callahan benched Norman and a few others near the end of a loss to the New York Jets. It also comes a mere days after defensive coordinator Greg Manusky didn’t have many nice things to say about Norman’s play.

The Redskins are in full-blown evaluation mode with the season lost. But it’s hard not to think about the future with a move like this. Norman has one year left on his deal and would save north of $12 million by parting ways with him this offseason.

Rest assured regardless of what happens during Sunday’s tilt with the Lions, this will be one of the biggest stories.
