Redskins will keep Dwayne Haskins on roster to end season

The Redskins won’t put Haskins on the shelf.

When it was revealed Washington Redskins quarterback Dwayne Haskins would miss the rest of the season it was safe to presume the team would shift him to injured reserve in order to stash players for the future.

Instead, the Redskins will keep Haskins on the 53 but won’t have him active on gameday to close the season, per Craig Hoffman of 106.7 The Fan:

“Callahan says that Haskins will remain on the active 53 rosters (for now), but will not be on the 46 man roster on Sunday. He’s definitely going to be inactive versus Dallas. No emergency work or anything.”

Instead, the Redskins shifted two other players to injured reserve Tuesday, keeping Haskins around for the time being,

Haskins suffered an ankle injury and came out during a great performance against the Giants over the weekend. The injury isn’t serious, but the timetable means he won’t be able to go at the end of his promising rookie season.
