Redskins will have to deal with Daniel Jones, not Eli Manning

Ther Giants will provide an interesting developments.

It turns out the Washington Redskins won’t be seeing an old nemesis like Eli Manning this weekend.

The New York Giants will have budding star quarterback Daniel Jones on the field instead now that he’s back from an ankle injury.

“I feel better this week,” Jones said, per Giants.com. “Through it, I felt like I’ve progressed every day and every week. Hopefully I’ll continue to do that through this week and I’ll feel even better Sunday.”

The Giants had started Manning over the last few weeks, getting four touchdowns and three interceptions with a win in the process.

When Jones had started against the Redskins earlier this year the Giants ended up winning, though the rookie threw for 225 yards with one touchdown and two picks.

At this point, facing Manning is more preferable through sheer familiarity. But Jones is somewhat unexpectedly good to go, so the Redskins defensive front and the defensive backs getting a big chance over the final two weeks need to have a big day in order to upset a rival.
