Redskins might have a big win with QB coach Ken Zampese

Ken Zampese might be the right fit for Dwayne Haskins.

Dwayne Haskins has a new quarterbacks coach and Washington Redskins fans might want to get to know the name Ken Zampese.

Zampese has a long history of quality quarterbacks work on his resume and some of his best work came recently in Cleveland.

This was recently highlighted in a note by Jeff Schudel of The News-Herald:

“Ken Zampese has been hired by the Redskins as their quarterbacks coach. He was the #Browns QB coach in 2018 and fired when Freddie Kitchens was hired in 2019. I believe Baker Mayfield missed Zampese and that Ryan Lindley failed him. Let’s see what Zampese does for Dwayne Haskins.”

Of course, Zampese’s status isn’t any sort of secret in league circles. Besides his strong work with Baker Mayfield, he’s overseen big years from players like Andy Dalton.

As a whole, the 52-year-old coach has been working with quarterbacks since the mid-90s, so the resume and experience is a welcome addition to a room also including veteran like Alex Smith.

Zampese’s next task? Helping along the development of Haskins, who surges into Year 2 looking to make an impression on a new head coach.
