When Dwayne Haskins gutted through an ankle injury recently, it was understandable if a sense of dread swept among the Washington Redskins fanbase.
Simply put, injuries have ravaged the team for years, so it only seemed fitting the rookie quarterback in need of developmental reps would suffer a mishap.
But that ankle injury continues to sound mild at best, as interim coach Bill Callahan provided updates Wednesday.
“He looked great today. … Everything was seamless. … We moved him out of the pocket today as well,” Callahan said, according to The Athletic’s Rhiannon Walker.
Getting out of the pocket isn’t the biggest facet of Haskins’ game, so it’s good to hear he’s well enough to do that on a Wednesday,
If the Redskins and Haskins are lucky, there won’t be any sort of reaggravation over the next two days or the coming weeks as he continues to develop at a notable clip.
