Reds’ Stuart Fairchild made a miraculous dive to turn a triple into a Little League home run

What a heads-up play by Stuart Fairchild!

Stuart Fairchild took advantage of a sequence of bad plays by the Miami Marlins and made them pay with some stunning base running.

On Tuesday, the Cincinnati Reds and Marlins were locked in a 1-1 dead heat in the bottom of the fifth. On a 2-2 count, Fairchild looped a ball into right field that eluded Jesús Sánchez on the hop and rolled into the corner. By the time the ball was corralled for the relay, Fairchild was on his way to third and looking to go home.

Then, disaster struck for the Marlins. The relay throw to catcher Nick Fortes was off the mark as it glanced off his glove. Fairchild saw his chance and dashed home, making a miraculous dive to evade Fortes to score a wacky Little League home run for the lead!

Just how they drew it up!

Here’s how MLB fans reacted to Fairchild’s wild Little League home run.
