Former Vol Nick Senzel was optioned by Cincinnati to Triple-A Louisville on Friday.
Senzel, a utility player for the Reds, was optioned after Cincinnati purchased a contract for outfielder Henry Ramos from Louisville.
The former Vol has recorded a .219 batting average, nine home runs, 37 RBIs, 53 hits, 36 runs, nine doubles and five stolen bases in 2023, while playing second base, third base and all three outfield positions.
Senzel played for Tennessee from 2014-16, earning All-Southeastern Conference and All-America honors.
He came to the Vols from Farragut High School in Farragut, Tennessee.
Senzel was selected by the Reds in the first-round of the 2016 MLB draft (No. 2 overall pick).
