Red Bull, Mercedes and Alpine have become the latest teams to set a date for their new car launches ahead of the 2024 season.
Attempting to follow the immense success of the dominant RB19 that won all but one race in 2023, Red Bull will unveil its RB20 on February 15. No other details have been confirmed at this stage, although it marks a much later season launch compared to 12 months ago, when Red Bull held a large event in New York City in early February.
Of the chasing pack, on the same day that it was announced that Toto Wolff has signed a new contract to remain as Mercedes team principal and chief executive officer, the team confirmed it will be revealing its 2024 car – the W15 – on February 14.
Described as “a digital launch event broadcast live from Silverstone”, it appears to follow traditional Mercedes launches where the new car carries out a shakedown at the home of the British Grand Prix and is unveiled on the same day.

Alpine will be launching its season before Mercedes as it will carry out a special event one week earlier on February 7. Bruno Famin’s team will not only be unveiling its new car at that time, but also kicking off its World Endurance Championship campaign with the new Alpine A424 Hypercar. The Hypercar team includes Mick Schumacher in its driver line-up, as he will dovetail racing with reserve driver duties at Mercedes.
There is no location information confirmed at this stage from Alpine, with its launch currently the third set to take place in February after Williams and Stake (February 5).
