There are no words to truly describe Alabama’s first half performance against USF. The Crimson Tide are knotted up at 3-3 heading into the locker room.
Alabama decided to make a change at the quarterback position in favor of starting redshirt sophomore Tyler Buchner. The Notre Dame transfer did not do enough to move the needle and was taken out after Alabama was forced to punt in the first five drives of the game.
The defense has performed well enough to keep the Crimson Tide in the game. However, the defense has struggled to get off the field on third downs on several occasions.
The key play for Alabama in the first half was a fumble that was recovered by true freshman, defensive lineman James Smith.
Following the fumble recovery, Alabama turned to redshirt freshman Ty Simpson. He failed to help the Crimson Tide get in the end zone. Nonetheless, he did help Alabama score three points to finish out the half.
Now, it is apparent that Alabama will have to make some of the necessary changes and adjustments to come away with a win. If not, Alabama is stepping in dangerous waters.
