Recap: Oregon Ducks get first win ever in Boulder as Buffs falter late

The Buffs lacked willpower as they fell to the Oregon Ducks on Thursday night.

What started with a smooth Evan Battey three-pointer from the corner and a CU Events Center crowd on its feet, ended with a Jabari Walker airball, fans leaving the arena with heads hung in dismay, and several minutes left on the clock.

It was the third straight loss for the Colorado Buffaloes as they fell for the first time in program history to the Oregon Ducks in Boulder. The Buffs took down Oregon on the road just over a week ago, but a lot has changed in the nine days since that inspiring comeback victory in Eugene.

Back-to-back losses against the Washington Huskies and Washington State Cougars set the stage for Colorado to have a bounce-back performance and improve its home record against the Ducks to 11-0. And although the first half seemed to be heading in that direction, the outcome wasn’t one that Buffs fans were hoping for.
