Recap: No. 7 Colorado women’s basketball pulls away late from pesky Terriers

The No. 7 CU women’s basketball team enjoyed a huge fourth quarter in Tuesday’s win over Boston U.

For the first 27 minutes of Tuesday’s game, the Colorado women’s basketball team couldn’t find any sustained separation from the Boston University Terriers.

Although the No. 7 Buffs did establish a 13-point lead in the second quarter, the Terriers clawed their way back into the game, eventually taking a 50-47 lead with 2:27 left in the third quarter.

From then on, the Buffaloes ended the game on a 38-5 run to win by the final score of 85-55. Colorado’s defense led the way late as BU made only one field goal and two free throws in the final 10 minutes.

Sharpshooter Frida Formann paced the Buffs with 22 points on 6-of-15 shooting, including five 3-point makes. CU’s frontcourt also played well as Aaronette Vonleh kept up her hot start to the season with 18 points and six rebounds while Quay Miller had 12 points and nine rebounds.

Next, Colorado has an in-state matchup with the Air Force Falcons on Saturday at 1 p.m. MT (Mountain West Network).
