The LSU baseball team orchestrated an impressive turnaround this season, overcoming losses in its first five SEC series to earn a No. 2 regional seed at the NCAA Tournament after reaching the SEC Tournament championship.
Some of those heroics were on display this weekend with the Tigers’ backs against the wall at the Chapel Hill Regional. They won an elimination game and a regional final matchup on Sunday, and they had a late lead in Monday’s decisive Game 7.
But a 3-2 ninth-inning lead against North Carolina didn’t hold, and LSU’s season came to an end with a 4-3 loss in extra innings.
