The Boston Celtics signed Neemias Queta to a two-way contract, per multiple sources. Queta, a 24-year-old 7-foot center from Portugal, previously played for the Sacramento Kings but mainly spent his time in the G League with their Stockton Kings affiliate.
In the 2022-23 season, he started a total of 29 games in the G League, averaging 16.8 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists and almost two blocks per game. He shot 68.5% from the field. Despite having gone undrafted in 2019, Queta has shown promising skills for a big man and the sort of physicality in the frontcourt Boston lacks.
To talk it over soon after news broke of the signing on Saturday. the hosts of the CLNS Media “How Bout Them Celtics!” convened to produce the clip embedded below; check it out to get up to speed on the newest Boston big man.
