RB Raheem Mostert is our Dolphins Player of the Game for Week 6

Another stellar performance for the Dolphins running back.

Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert continued his stellar 2023 campaign with another dominant performance in the Week 6 win against the Carolina Panthers.

The injury to De’Von Achane drew some concern from Miami fans, but Mostert has proven to be almost equally important to the offense.

The Dolphins offense, once again, put on a clinic, scoring 42 points on six touchdowns with half of them going to Mostert. He ran the ball 17 times for 115 yards (6.8 yards per carry) and two rushing touchdowns. He also caught all three of his targets for 17 yards and an additional score.

Mostert was key to the Dolphins overcoming an early 14-0 deficit to the winless Panthers.

Miami’s offense responded immediately to the Panthers’ second touchdown with a nine-play, 75-yard drive, ending with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa finding Mostert for a three-yard score on second-and-goal.

The next offensive drive began with a 49-yard run by Mostert to set up the Dolphins at Carolina’s eight-yard line. Tagovailoa then found receiver Jaylen Waddle two plays later for the touchdown to tie the game.

Mostert scored his second touchdown in the third quarter to put Miami up 28-14. Carolina didn’t get back within a single score for the remainder of the game.

The Purdue product punched in his third touchdown of the game early in the fourth quarter on a third-and-goal play from the one-yard line, giving Miami a three-score lead with 12:27 left in the game.

Usually, an offense takes a major step back when a star like Achane is put on injured reserve, but Mostert has proven to be more than capable of shouldering the load.

He entered this game averaging 5.4 yards per attempt which ranked top 10 in the league along with his counterpart Achane, who is averaging an incredible 12.1 yards per attempt.

Mostert has been a consistent dual threat out of the backfield. His presence makes everyone’s job easier on offense. He now has 11 total touchdowns through the first six games of the season which leads the NFL. If Tua Tagovailoa ends up winning MVP, there should be no doubt Mostert deserves credit for his contributions.
