Ravens WR Rashod Bateman to miss remainder of 2022 season following foot surgery

Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman will miss the remainder of the 2022 season following foot surgery

The Baltimore Ravens drafted Rashod Bateman in the first round of the 2021 draft with high hopes that he could become a star in their offense. While it’s still extremely early in his career, he hasn’t been able to stay on the field for as long as many would have liked, and on Thursday head coach John Harbaugh relayed devastating news on the status of the second-year wideout.

Harbaugh announced that Bateman has made the decision to undergo surgery for a lisfranc foot injury, which will effectively end his season. It’s a big blow to Baltimore’s receiving group, as Bateman’s 2022 season will effectively come to a close after just six games.

“I do have one announcement on the personnel injury front; Rashod Bateman has decided to go ahead and get a surgery for his foot. He’s going to get the Lisfranc surgery. It was one of those ones where it was up to him; he, and his agent and his family talked it over, and they decided it would be in his best interest to do that. So, we support him on that; we understand what he’s doing…”
