Ravens WR Rashod Bateman discusses differences he’s seen in QB Lamar Jackson

Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman discussed the differences that he’s seen in quarterback Lamar Jackson

The Baltimore Ravens held mandatory minicamp in Owings Mills last week from Tuesday through Thursday. It was a chance to what progress the players had made from doing their own workouts in the offseason. On the offensive side of the ball, Baltimore will be looking to bounce back from a year where they struggled at times due to a number of different reasons, including injuries.

Wide receivers Rashod Bateman and James Proche II spoke to the media after the final practice of minicamp.  They were asked about the differences that they’ve seen in quarterback Lamar Jackson this offseason, and Bateman said that his approach to the game is different, and also mentioned that he’s tired of the slander that Jackson gets.

“I just think that he’s coming in and he’s about his business. He’s been out here working day-by-day, and his approach to the game is definitely different. He’s eager, he’s ready to ball, he’s ready to show everybody who he is. We all know who he is, and I think we all are tired of the Lamar [Jackson] slander. But, I know who he is.”

Proche then added in one simple word in regards to the slander.

“Outlandish”.

The constant talk that revolves around Jackson surely motivates the former league-MVP, but he’s also good at tuning out the noise and focusing on what he can control. The quarterback is in line for a big 2022 season, and with the help of Bateman, Proche and others can have a bounce-back year after a rough end to his 2021 season.
