The Baltimore Ravens took care of business in Week 6, beating the Philadelphia Eagles 30-28 in a nail biter of a game. Though the Ravens’ offense was once again inconsistent and the defense allowed far too many points in the fourth quarter, pundits around the league aren’t quite ringing the alarm bells yet.
Mark Schofield of Touchdown Wire has Baltimore staying at their No. 6 spot in this week’s power rankings. While he specifically calls out Philadelphia’s fourth-quarter comeback attempt as problematic, he also notes it’s not a big enough concern right now.
Still, the Ravens had a three-game stretch against some of the worst teams in the NFL right now that could have been a great tune-up prior to a much more difficult portion of their schedule. However, Baltimore didn’t really improve upon any of their areas of concern despite the easier competition. The hope is a Week 7 bye will give the Ravens a chance to fine-tune their defense and fix some of their more glaring offensive woes.
With the No. 1-ranked Pittsburgh Steelers up in Week 8, Baltimore will get arguably their first real test since a Week 3 beating from the Kansas City Chiefs. A win over the Steelers will heal quite a lot while a big loss could see the Ravens drop out of the top-10.
