Ravens QB Lamar Jackson misses practice with an illness

Jackson is battling a stomach ailment but is expected to play in Detroit on Sunday

Sunday’s game at Ford Field between the Detroit Lions and visiting Baltimore Ravens could have taken an interesting turn on Thursday. Ravens QB Lamar Jackson sat out the Ravens practice session with an undisclosed illness.

Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reported that it’s a stomach ailment for Jackson and that the MVP candidate is still expected to play in Week 3. Tyler Huntley is the backup quarterback and the only other QB on Baltimore’s active roster.

Jackson famously played through a stomach illness in 2020 against the Cleveland Browns. He departed the game only to return for late-game heroics after getting relief for his ailment.

The Ravens have one more practice this week before heading to Detroit for Sunday’s game.
