The Baltimore Ravens wouldn’t be nearly as competitive as they have been over the past several seasons without MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson under center. However, with the offseason fast approaching, Jackson’s contract status for next season is up in the air, and speculation continues to grow regarding his status for the 2023 season.
Veteran offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley isn’t so worried, though. In comments to reporters during the Ravens’ end-of-season media availability session, he made it clear that he’s hopeful that Jackson and the Baltimore organization to come to an agreement to bring him back to the field in a Ravens uniform.
“In my mind, I know he’s going to be here,” Stanley said. “He’s a competitor and he wants to win, and this is his team and this is his offense. The money is not the most important thing with Lamar [Jackson]. He really wants to win – contrary to popular belief.”
Jackson’s departure would make waves all around the league, and Baltimore understands just how important his presence is to their ability to compete in the ultra-talented AFC. Especially given how many young quarterbacks are currently in the conference, it seems like it should be a no-brainer for the Ravens to get Jackson a contract worthy of his exceptional talent in the offseason.
