Ravens OLB Justin Houston on first-round playoff exit: ‘You grow from it’

Ravens outside linebacker Justin Houston said that he and his teammates would grow from the team’s playoff loss to the Bengals

A first-round playoff exit wasn’t how the Baltimore Ravens or their fans were hoping the team’s season would end, but given the health concerns they faced at the quarterback position, a playoff loss seemed like an inevitability.

Veteran pass rusher Justin Houston spoke to the media after the game about his thoughts on the Ravens’ situation heading into the offseason. Though he clearly wasn’t thrilled with the outcome of the game, he was adamant that he and his teammates would take this opportunity to learn valuable lessons that will help them next season.

“This is not my first rodeo, I’ve been in this situation more than I would like,” Houston told reporters. “So, you grow from it. Even though it’s tough right now, you can’t let it keep you down. You have to use this as motivation to keep going, find a way to let this make you a better person, learn from this, learn from your mistakes.”

While this game’s result was far from ideal for Baltimore, the season’s end will usher in a new era of hope that the Ravens can handle their business next year and make a more convincing run at a Super Bowl title.
