The Baltimore Ravens hired offensive coordinator Todd Monken on Valentine’s Day and was introduced to the media on Tuesday afternoon. Monken said he hasn’t gotten a chance to meet quarterback Lamar Jackson or any of his new players just yet, but he’s seen film on what Baltimore has put together on offense.
Monken was asked what he thought about Jackson’s game from afar, before having a chance to meet and talk to him personally. The offensive coordinator praised Jackson, saying he has an “elite” skill set and is an underrated passer.
"Lamar has an elite skill set. It's obvious."

“Elite. He has an elite skillset; it’s obvious when you watch him on film, the things he can do with the football and the plays that he makes. I think he’s underrated as a passer in terms of his ability to make plays and throw it down the field. So, you’ve all seen it. I’m like you; I’m no different than you. I watch what you guys watch, and it’s pretty amazing.”
It’s going to be interesting to see how Jackson’s game grows now that he has a new offensive coordinator to work with, assuming he stays in Baltimore. The biggest question for both the organization, Jackson and Monken is whether Jackson will be around for Monken to coach him moving forward.
