Ravens OC Greg Roman discusses not running ball late vs. Cleveland in Week 15

Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman discussed not running the ball late against the Cleveland Browns in Week 15

The Baltimore Ravens were defeated by the Cleveland Browns by the final score of 13-3 in Week 15. The loss dropped their record to 9-5 on the year, and it gave them their first division loss on the season as well.

A major storyline from the contest was that despite averaging 7.1 yards per carry as a team that included running back J.K Dobbins (9.6 yards per carry) and Gus Edwards (7.9 yards per carry), Baltimore didn’t give the ball to either after 14:54 left in the fourth quarter. After the game, offensive coordinator Greg Roman discussed the lack of the run in the fourth quarter, saying that the team could have kept going with it a bit more.

“That’s one that I generally would hedge on the other side, but we were just trying to – really like I said earlier – kind of try to change the tempo, try to spark ourselves a little bit. We were moving it really well on the ground for sure and some quick passes or whatnot, but could we have stayed in that mode a bit more? Probably. Probably. You look back, and you’re like, ‘Jeez, [we] could’ve kept going with that a little bit more,’ but on Monday, it’s always easy to say that.”
