For superstitious fans, the “Madden Curse” isn’t the only one to be wary of. Rapper Drake has earned himself a curse as well and it’s now just smacked the Baltimore Ravens in the divisional round of the 2019 NFL playoffs.
For those that believe, and there are quite a few, the teams Drake supports tend to suffer a string of bad luck and losses. Some of his former victims include the Toronto Raptors, tennis player Serena Williams and MMA fighter Conor McGregor.
For Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson’s birthday, Drake put up a photo on his Instagram of something monogrammed with the “Truss” motto Baltimore has carried with them this season.

For the superstitious, it’s time to panic now. For those that are a little more grounded, it’s just another rapper who enjoys what Jackson is doing on the field.
There’s some hope the curse has been killed though, with the Raptors winning the NBA finals. However, for plenty of fans (and even players), they aren’t taking their chances.
Nooooo tell Drake to leave LJ alone until after the Super Bowl brah…

But if what quarterback Lamar Jackson said this week to reporters was true and he has been talking to Drake for a while, it seems as though the curse really has been lifted. The Ravens went on a 12-game winning streak to enter the playoffs as the No. 1 seed and talking to Drake “for a while” hasn’t interrupted that.
Regardless, if Baltimore falls short of Super Bowl LIV, Drake probably isn’t going to receive the warmest welcome in town.
