Ravens make two roster moves on Wednesday

The Ravens made two roster moves on Wednesday, signing a wide receiver while placing one player on the NFI list

The Baltimore Ravens kick off their first full-team practice of 2022 training camp on Wednesday, with excitement in the air surrounding what many believe will be a bounce-back season by the team. Baltimore had their veterans report to camp on Tuesday, with all but one player showing up in rookie outside linebacker David Ojabo.

Despite training camp just getting underway, the Ravens continue to make roster moves. On Wednesday, the team signed free agent wide receiver Bailey Gaither while placing guard Ben Cleveland on the Non-Football Injury list. The news came hours before Baltimore’s first practice of training camp.

Gaither worked out for the team on Tuesday alongside two other players, and clearly impressed the organization enough to bring him in. He played for five years at San Jose State in college, then signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2021. He briefly retired from football a few months later, but then came back to the game and played for the Pittsburgh Maulers of the USFL.

Cleveland’s placement on the NFI list could mean a multitude of things. The most likely scenario is that he failed Baltimore’s conditioning test, and if that is the case he can take it daily and be removed from the list once he passes.
