Ravens ILB Patrick Queen on looming game vs. Bengals: ‘I’m going to play the game that I love’

Ravens inside linebacker Patrick Queen discusses the team’s Week 18 matchup with the Bengals

The Baltimore Ravens are preparing to play the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 18 under some different circumstances. The injury sustained by Buffalo Bills defensive back Damar Hamlin on Monday night in the team’s game against the Bengals has rocked the league to its very foundation, and all attention around the NFL remains focused on his recovery.

Despite the craziness of the week, Ravens linebacker Patrick Queen is doing his best to stay focused on Baltimore’s Sunday afternoon matchup against the Bengals as the team looks to end their 2022 regular season campaign with a win. When asked if it would be strange to play on the same field where Monday’s horrific injury took place, Queen replied with a thoughtful answer that may surprise some fans.

“For some people it might [be unusual]; for me, it’s not,” he explained. “At the end of the day, I’m going out there, [and] I’m going to play the game that I love. And I don’t look at getting hurt, so that’s just how I am. If it does [feel unusual] for somebody and they need to get it off their chest, I’m here, [and] they can come talk to me.”

While Hamlin’s status will remain a key part of the conversation surrounding this week’s action, the Ravens’ coaches and players are turning their attention to the task at hand. Baltimore still has plenty to play for in Week 18, and a win would give them some much-needed momentum heading into playoff action.
