Ravens HC John Harbaugh not ready to announce starters vs Steelers

It’s hard to imagine the Ravens are going to take any unnecessary risks this week against the Steelers.

It isn’t clear if the Baltimore Ravens will play their starters on Saturday when they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Ravens locked up the No. 1 seed in the AFC last week when they routed the Miami Dolphins 56-19. This means the Ravens have nothing to play for in Week 18 against the Steelers.

Meanwhile, the Steelers have everything to play for. Pittsburgh needs a win along with some help to make their way to the playoffs. But Ravens head coach John Harbaugh isn’t quite ready to announce what his plans are for the roster this week. Harbaugh said the team is looking at this week’s game as well as ahead into the playoffs right now.

“We have kind of a two-fold thought process right now. We have our priority, which is the Steelers game,” Harbaugh said. “Putting our best foot forward, playing our best game against our biggest rival, who are playing great football. We expect it to be a very hard-fought game, so we’ve got to get our minds right for that. Also planning for the next step, in the playoffs. Those are the two things we are looking at today.”

Harbaugh did note in his postgame press conference that he would let the media know if he plans to rest guys like MVP frontrunner Lamar Jackson this week to avoid an unnecessary injury in a meaningless game.

The Steelers have bounced back after three straight losses thanks to the switch to Mason Rudolph at quarterback.
