Ravens HC John Harbaugh hasn’t thought much about contract of Browns QB Deshaun Watson

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh discussed the guaranteed contract of Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson

The Baltimore Ravens still have no resolution with quarterback Lamar Jackson on a potential long-term contract extension. The situation has been fluid for some time and with the franchise tag deadline coming up in a matter of days, it’s hard to tell what path things could go down, with guaranteed money being a reported sticking point in conversations.

During his 2023 NFL Scouting Combine media availability, Harbaugh was asked about the contract given to quarterback Deshaun Watson by the Cleveland Browns and whether the deal would set a precedent. Harbaugh said he didn’t think about it as much, and then discussed how the team wants Jackson to say in Baltimore.

“I probably didn’t as much. I wasn’t thinking so much about those ramifications. I just felt like and put my trust in the fact that we want Lamar [Jackson], and Lamar wants to be a Raven, and in the end, that’s going to work itself out, in my mind. Then you just let providence do its work; you let providence do its good work, and I trust in that. So, whatever providence ends up determining in the end, I’m going to be all for, and I think it’s going to be what’s best for everybody. But I’ve always been confident that it’s going to get worked out, and I still believe that.”
