Ravens HC John Harbaugh gives injury updates on WR Rashod Bateman, OLB Tyus Bowser

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh gave updates on wide receiver Rashod Bateman and outside linebacker Tyus Bowser

The Baltimore Ravens concluded Day 1 of training camp on Wednesday without suffering any type of major injuries. However, some of the team’s players are still recovering from their injuries that were suffered prior to the start of training camp, so they weren’t out on the field participating.

When asked about updates to some of his injured players in wide receiver Rashod Bateman and outside linebacker Tyus Bowser, head coach John Harbaugh gave insight into their recoveries. He said that both players are dealing with overcompensation related to their injuries but not directly tied to the original injury itself.

“Yes, absolutely. Both those guys [Rashod Bateman and Tyus Bowser] … It’s hard to categorize it, but I would say [that] both those guys are dealing with things that are kind of like side issues to their recovery, so [there were] no setbacks. Tyus’ Achilles is fine. Bateman’s Lisfranc surgery is good; he’s fine. But with that, sometimes other areas compensate and get a little sore, and that’s what we’re dealing with. There are some timelines to that; I really don’t want to share them right now, but they’re reasonable timelines. And we’ll be excited when they get back.”
