Ravens HC John Harbaugh gives cryptic answer when asked about RB J.K. Dobbins

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh gave a cryptic answer when asked about the status of running back J.K. Dobbins

The Baltimore Ravens are looking for another great year of production out of their running back room. Despite their likely being a shift in usage due to the departure of Greg Roman and arrival of Todd Monken, players such as J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards and others should still be poised for big seasons in 2023.

Dobbins in particular has had an interesting offseason. From getting back to full strength from the injury that he suffered in 2021 to presumed contract displeasure, he hasn’t taken the field for Baltimore in the offseason. Head coach John Harbaugh was asked about the status of Dobbins, and gave an eery answer.

“That’s a J.K. [Dobbins] question. It’s a … I wish it was a simple answer. There are always a lot of things that go into football, but there is some complexity to it, and we’re working through all that, [and] J.K. is working through it, and I’m looking forward to when he’s out there.”

He was then asked to clarify Dobbins’ injury situation, to which he still didn’t have much of an answer to.

“It’s really hard to make a measurement like that. I don’t know that there’s a measurement. I know [J.K. Dobbins] will get ready. He’s in all the meetings – mentally – and doing those kinds of things. And then I also believe this about J.K. – he’ll be happy when he’s out there. He wants to be out there, and we both want the same thing.”
