Ravens have possible training camp battle brewing at kick return position

The Ravens have a possible training camp battle brewing at their kick returner spot

The Baltimore Ravens will have plenty of positional battles to watch over the course of 2024 training camp. The team will be relying on plenty of young players to step up, but also signed a few veteran pieces for experience as the team looks to win a Super Bowl.

One position to watch as training camp kicks off is kick returner, where the team has a few options. When listing off the top 2024 training camp battles to watch, Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports brought up the Baltimore’s kick return battle between Deonte Harty and Justice Hill, giving a bit of background on both candidates.

“Special teams will have a renewed focus in 2024, with the NFL re-incentivizing kick returns under totally revamped rules. Harty is an accomplished return man from his days with the New Orleans Saints, while Hill is fresh off a 2023 campaign in which he logged a career-high 712 all-purpose yards.”

Harty was an All-Pro back in 2019 for the New Orleans Saints, and has shown his returner chops over the course of his career. However, Hill showed plenty of juice last season while making a name for himself, so while Harty appears to be the frontrunner for the job, Hill shouldn’t be counted out.
