The Baltimore Ravens lost running back J.K. Dobbins to injury during the 2021 preseason, ending his year before it could begin. The team saw him return to the field in 2022, and despite having to undergo another knee surgery during the year, still put on an impressive performance.
When talking to the media at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine, Baltimore general manager Eric DeCosta was asked about Dobbins. He heaped praise on the now fourth-year running back, saying how impressed with the work ethic and the way he battled back from his injury, and said he started to look like the old Dobbins as the year continued.
“J.K. [Dobbins] finished strong. I’m really, really impressed with his passion, his work ethic, the way that he battled back from a very, very serious knee injury. It was very impressive to me to see how he really kind of matured over the course of the season. He came back from that second procedure surgery that he had, and he started to really look like that old J.K., which is extremely exciting for the organization. And we fully expect J.K. to have a great year this year.”
