Ravens DL Justin Madubuike explains what it means to have Calais Campbell back in Baltimore

Ravens defensive lineman Justin Madubuike explained what it means to have defensive lineman Calais Campbell back with the team

It was known by many that the Baltimore Ravens’ defensive line could look a bit different when the team suited up for the first week of the 2022 season. They had multiple big-name free agents slated to hit the market, and while some have moved on to other opportunities or haven’t been signed yet, one veteran returned to the team to the delight of many.

Defensive lineman Calais Campbell signed a two-year, $12.5 million contract with Baltimore to stay with the Ravens for at least one more year. When fellow defensive lineman Justin Madubuike was asked what it meant to have Campbell back in purple and black, he expressed his excitement.

“I’m excited. That’s the big ‘bro.’ I’m just grateful. Just another year of learning from him, and another year of just being great with him, and on this journey to get to the Super Bowl – that’s the main goal. So, it’s great to have a guy like that in your corner.”

Campbell has played extremely solid football since coming over in a trade from the Jacksonville Jaguars during the 2020 offseason. He has also established himself as one of the biggest leaders in the locker room and a key veteran presence, so his return to the team is very important for multiple different reasons.
