Ravens defensive line coach explains why Jadeveon Clowney has been so impactful

Anthony Weaver says Jadeveon Clowney has made huge impact with Ravens

Jadeveon Clowney has always been an elite pass rusher, but he seems to have finally put the total package together during his stint with Baltimore.

During a recent session with the media, former Ravens great and current defensive line coach Anthony Weaver talked about Clowney’s impact on the defense and why he’s playing so well.

“There’s nobody in this building, probably except Lamar Jackson, who’s had as much pressure as Jadeveon Clowney [has],” Ravens Outside Linebackers Coach Chuck Smith said Tuesday. “The difference in Jadeveon Clowney in other places, is that he’s developed a skill move. But also, add in, he has the complementary pieces around him that he’s not Jadeveon Clowney, the first-round pick, the No. 1 guy.”

Fifteen Baltimore defenders have recorded at least a half-sack, and Mike MacDonald’s defense has six defenders with three or more sacks.

Clowney ranks second on the team with 7.5 and is on pace for double-digit sacks while being among the NFL’s leaders in quarterback pressures.
